Wondering which suits you better? Are you a bit apprehensive about solo travel but also feel a bit overwhelmed by group travel? One thing is certain: there is no definitive answer, as no trip and no destination is the same as the previous one.
Both options have their pros and cons, and as a traveler who has experienced both, I'll try to clarify things for you.
Let’s start with solo travel.
If it’s your first trip abroad, DON’T do it. No matter how culturally similar the country you are visiting might be to Greece, it is NOT Greece.
If something goes wrong, you will have to figure it out on your own because YOU are alone.
On the other hand, being solo means you’re free to set your own itinerary.
You can stick to your plan or deviate from it as you please!
You can enjoy whatever you want, wherever you want, for as long as you want. You’ve taken the step towards what you dreamed of, so live it to the fullest, your way!
Group Travel
It’s true that traveling with a tour operator can make things much easier.
They will take care of everything—tickets, hotels, schedules, etc. They’ll provide you with a "pre-packaged" tour, and all you need to do is dig deep into your pocket to purchase it, while feeling secure knowing there’s always someone around to assist with anything you need.
Before you settle on this option, make sure the package you choose closely aligns with your preferences. Check the itinerary carefully and ensure there’s enough free time for yourself. Back-to-back tours, sightseeing, and excursions can be quite exhausting!
Ultimately, no matter what you choose, remember:
One who lives sees much, one who travels sees more!
